Duct tape

Duct tape is incredible. You can really fix just about anything with it. When we arrived in Orange Beach for vacation, we had to buy some duct tape to fix the canopy we bought at a garage sale. I was getting ready to go fix it when I looked over at our cooler. The plastic tread had slipped off the tire about a year ago and I have been struggling with this thing since then. A little duct tape and this thing was like new. Same for the canopy. That made me think about the original duct tape – Jesus.

I had some broken things in my life that I just accepted for a long time. But just like the canopy or that wheel on the cooler, I put some Jesus brand duct tape on them and now they are like new.

Jesus is our healer.   Isaiah 53:5 – But he was pierced for our transgressions,
       he was crushed for our iniquities;
       the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
       and by his wounds we are healed.

He makes all things new.  Revelation:21:5 –   Behold, I make all things new.

It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been broken.    John 5:5-9

5One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. 6When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”

 7“Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”

 8Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” 9At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.

5 down

Got with Shawn Few and laid down scratch tracks for 5 songs.  I’ve worked alone in the studio for so long that I forgot what it was like to bounce ideas off of other people – gets that whole creative thing happening.  Plus, it was great to sit back and listen to one of my favorite singer/songwriters who just so happens to be one of my closest friends.

No power – can’t track anything…. Getting off to a slow start.
